The difference between 500mA and 600mA is the maximum amount of current the devices can deliver. Since the new Volts need less current, a 600mA will be at least as good as 500mA. Aelus is correct.
It’s okay if the unit’s voltage output is correct.
There is a 12V DC device. Amperage is how much power your device uses. If your device says it is 12V 3A, a 3A adapter can handle that load, but 4A and 5A can’t. The higher the power supply’s amperage, the less hard it will be to handle a small load.
A 12v 600ma source is able to give 12v and 600a. The larger source is acceptable if the device requires 12v. 500ma of the available 600ma will be used. Is it possible to use a 9V 500mA for a 9V 800mA?
The others say that using a 400mA device on a 500mA power supply is okay. A power supply with a rating of 2000mA or more would work. It’s not ok to use the wrong voltage.
The 100mA is too small. At least 500mA is the size of the adapter that can be used. Can you use 600ma instead of 500ma? A 12v 600ma source is able to give 12v and 600a. The larger source is acceptable if the device requires 12v.
Since the new Volts need less current, a 600mA will be at least as good as 500mA. Aelus is correct. The device’s voltage needs to be correct for it to work. The power supply will not be a factor in determining the current draw.
