The best upgrade will be on the iPhone 14 Pro

follow technology radar, The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are the most advanced members of the iPhone 14 lineup that Apple is expected to launch in September. While Apple hasn’t officially confirmed any features, the list below shows the best upgrades to expect.

no more bangs

Perhaps the biggest change to the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max is the removal of the bangs (or bangs). Notch was first introduced on the iPhone X, but it took generations for the feature to be completely removed.

Even so, the notch-replacement feature on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max may not please everyone, as there are two cutouts on the screen, including a punch-hole and a pill-shaped punch-hole. It’s an imperfect solution, making the screen still more choppy than most Android phones, but one that Apple needs to accept to accommodate the Face ID component.

Camera 48 MP

Apple rarely upgrades the iPhone’s cameras, but there’s a big change coming this year, with rumours of a 48 MP primary sensor instead of the 12 MP found on the iPhone 13 series, though only for the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

Apple has kept the 12 MP camera on the iPhone since it launched the iPhone 6S series in 2015

This will bring a major upgrade to the already impressive imaging capabilities of Apple’s flagship iPhone. It also allows for 8K video recording, up from 4K on current phone models. Of course, it remains to be seen whether the lens change will actually make a difference, although there are high hopes given the improved camera quality on the device.

stronger

This may be the most obvious and anticipated upgrade when the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max feature the new A16 Bionic chip, which is more powerful than the iPhone 13 Pro lineup. The phones will likely be bumped from 6GB to 8GB of RAM, although another source says 6GB is still the level of RAM for the iPhone 14 Pro series.

The strategic change lies with the iPhone 14 and 14 Max, which still stick with the current A15 Bionic chip. Basically, if you want an iPhone with a more powerful chip, users need to pay for the Pro version.

always on screen

Many Android phones offer Always On displays that show notifications or the time even when the screen is off, and this feature is likely to come to the iPhone 14 Pro series as well.

Always On will be part of what’s new in iOS 16

The information comes from Bloomberg’s well-known Mark Gurman, who claims that Always On can be enabled as part of iOS 16, and when phone screens can drop the refresh rate to 1 Hz, this can save battery power on devices.

bigger battery

Users have always wanted bigger batteries in their phones, or at least better battery life in some way, and when sources say the batteries in phones will be bigger this year, the iPhone 14 Pro series seems to be doing just that.

It’s unclear how this will improve the battery, but given the impressive battery life of the iPhone 13 Pro Max, one should wait for the battery life of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
