Technology is used. The wheel, Cuneiform script, arithmetic, geometry, irrigation, saws, sandals, chariots, harpoons, and beer were all invented by the Sumerians.
The people of Sumer had an unusual flair for technological invention.
The first people to migrate to Mesopotamia was the Sumerians. The cities built by the Sumerians were specialized, cooperated and made many advances in technology.
The wheel and writing are Mesopotamian inventions. Although some scholars claim that the wheel originated in Central Asia, it’s generally accepted that the concept came from the production of ceramics.
The Mesopotamians made a lot of technological advances. Many technological advances can be attributed to the Mesopotamians: irrigation, the plow, the sail, clay bricks, the potters wheel, metal-working, writing, accounting, filing, glass and lamp making, weaving and much more.
After being conquered by the Amorites, the Sumerian civilization lost it’s identity. The first law code in history is one of the achievements of the Sumerians.
