You can open the Run dialog box from the Start menu or you can press the R key. Right click on the drive hidden by you and select “Change Drive Letters and Paths”.
These steps are used to enable a hard drive.
Search for Device Manager and click the top result to open the app. Click the Driver tab to open it. Click the OK button.
There is an icon on your computer screen. The folders on your desktop are icons. The files in those folders are icons as well. Both the trash can on Macintosh and the recycle bin on Windows are icons.
Plug the drive in and try a different port. It is possible that the port in question is malfunctioning. If it is plugged into a 3.0 port, try a 2.0. Plug it directly into the PC if it’s plugged into a hub.
The tool creates a shortcut on the desktop when the mapped network folder is available. You can easily see when your network drives are accessible. The icon is removed from the desktop when the devices are plugged in.
You can view mounted drives in File Explorer if you run Windows 10 or 8. Pressing Windows key+E opens File Explorer. All drives are shown on the right when you select This PC.
It is possible that your desktop icons are not visible. To see them, right-click the desktop, select View, and then select Show desktop icons. You can add icons to your desktop.
If you want to add this PC to the desktop, you can either pin it to the Start menu or Taskbar. You can pin local drives to the navigation pane in File Explorer, which is a quick way to access drives.
